Cranial Biodynamic Osteopathy
The biodynamic method of osteopathy in the cranial field is a philosophy and treatment modality founded by James Jealous D.O. The biodynamic method builds on the previous works of William Sutherland D.O. (founder of cranial osteopathy) and Andrew Taylor Still M.D. (founder of osteopathy).
Biodynamic cranial osteopathy recognises that the embryological forces which formed the embryo, are also the forces of growth and development and the continuing restorative forces throughout life. Biodynamic osteopaths apply very specific, skilled, light pressure where necessary to communicate with these embryological forces, allowing the natural ability of the body to release stresses and tensions. The inherent reorganisation of the body allows homeostasis to be restored and a more neutral state of health to be achieved.
Biodynamic osteopaths treat a wide range of patient groups, including babies and children, adolescents, pregnancy, and the elderly.
Biodynamic osteopaths complete post-graduate training in this field, in addition to a 5 year university degree in Osteopathy.
